WL Brantley March 16, 1948 – December 23, 2019

WL Brantley of Choteau, Montana passed away at Benefis East in Great Falls, MT, at the age of 71. WL was born to Waymon and Leona Brantley of Crossett, the youngest of six children. He graduated from Crossett High in '66 and went to UAM at Monticello where he majored in Music, then got his bachelor degree in counseling at Jonesboro three years later. He taught at Parkin then Cotton Plant, followed by Brinkley, retiring after 28 years teaching.

WL met with a young lady in Livingston, MT while on tour with Collegiate Crusade for Christ in 1971, and reconnected with Julie Fink/Hollar on social media 38 years later. They married in 2009, his first marriage at age 61. They celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss November 27, 2019.

WL was very gifted musically with a tenor voice, and sang in high school and college choirs, and musicals as well as numerous funerals and weddings. He also made his own Gospel CD. WL was active in teaching Vacation Bible Schools, leading church and public school choirs, traveled with the Collegiate Crusade for Christ from Hensley for numerous spring breaks and summers until beginning his teaching career.

WL was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings Irene, Minnie, Lettie, Oleda and DC and an infant niece, all of Arkansas. He is survived by Julie and her children, Heather McCartney-Duty (Rod) and Matthew McCartney (Devonna) of Choteau, MT; Amber Fowler (Elichai) of Billings, MT; Kimber Hollar (Nate) of Boulder CO and John Hollar (Brittany) of Maricopa AZ. Also surviving are grandchildren: Joseph, Azakiah, Nobel and Ransom Fowler; Tallin McCartney; and Claira Duty and her siblings Ellie (Reid Fleshman), Trent and Jake Duty, all of Dutton; and Everly Hollar. Surviving also include the Fink, Gilbreaith and Gibson in-laws and their families, in Montana. Also surviving include nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews in Arkansas. A Memorial Service will be held January 4, 2020 at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church in Crossett. Gorder Jensen Funeral Home will provide the services.
