Gary Thomas Moffett Sr. March 28, 1955 - December 29, 2019

Gary Moffett, of Brinkley, passed away surrounded by family on in Jacksonville, at the age of 64. He was born on in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late John Thomas Moffett and Nadene Ashburn Moffett. During his early years, he was family friends with his future wife and even worked with her father. On April 2, 1981, he happily married his wife of 38 years, Mary Denise Whitted.
Gary was a skilled carpenter who loved music, especially the guitar; he enjoyed to hunt and fish as well. Of all the things he enjoyed doing was spending time with his family and seeking God were his favorites. Gary was of the Pentecostal faith and he had a special place in his heart for his Lord and was known to spend time with the Lord in prayer and in His Word, the Bible.
Preceding in death are his parents; one sister, Brenda Carol Moffett; and one brother, Kary Dean Moffett. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Denise; three sons, John Thomas "Tommy" (Amanda) Moffett, Gary Timothy "Timmy" Moffett, Gary Thomas "Tiny" (Rachel) Moffett II; three daughters, Tambrea Moffett, Kimberly (Stuart) Derrick, Kaylee Alyce Moffett (who shares her “Gabby's” love of Jesus and sees His face in those of the angels). Gary also leaves behind two brothers, Larry John Moffett, and Jerry Dene (Leah Ann) Moffett; three sisters, Glenda Mae (the late Kenny) Potts, Renita June (Jeff) Askew, and Cookie Lee "Nonnie", who was honored to hold his hand as he crossed over from this life into eternity. Gary was blessed with 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren who were the joy of his heart. Funeral services were at Fowler Funeral Home on January 2, with interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
