Marcus Antonio Rowe November 9, 1977 - January 1, 2020

Marcus Rowe, of Jonesboro, formerly of Augusta, died at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, at the age of 42.
Marcus was born in Newport, to Doris Marie Rowe and Ronnie Buirts. Growing up in Augusta, he attended the Augusta Public School System. He was a 1996 graduate of Augusta High School. Upon graduating from high school, Marcus enlisted into the Arkansas Army National Guard for a short period of time.
Marcus was an employee of the Butterball Food Processing Plant, in Jonesboro, where he had just got hired on just a few weeks prior to his passing. He was a former employee of Rent-A-Center in Jonesboro, where he worked for several years.
His maternal grandparents: Otha Rowe Sr. and Ivy Rowe and his paternal grandfather Rozelle Whitmore all preceded Marcus in death. Survivors are: two sons: Marcus Rowe Jr. and Marziano Rowe, both of Jonesboro; three daughters: Monique Selvy, of Coahoma, MS; Ky’Mya Rowe and Iviahna Rowe, both of Jonesboro; his parents Doris Marie Rowe, of Augusta; and Ronnie Buirts, of Chicago, Ill; two sisters: Shonta Biggers, of Augusta; and Tegra Almond, of Gary, IN; his paternal grandmother Glorice Buirts, of Augusta; his longtime companion Kimberly Smith, of Jonesboro; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on January 11 at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, in Augusta, with Elder Robert Gibbs officiating. Interment took place at New Quiet-North, in Augusta, by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home, of Brinkley. Pallbearers were: Marcus Rowe Jr., Maverick Atkins, Donald Miller, Allen Williams, Marlon Gilcrease and Larry Wynne.
