Cheryl Johnson October 11, 1959 – January 7, 2020

Cheryl Johnson, of St. Charles, passed away at the age of 60. A daughter of William and Edna Dawson, she was born at the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Later the family moved to St. Charles, where she became a 1979 graduate of the local high school.

Cheryl and Mickey Johnson, Sr. were married in St Charles on August 27, 1988. As a mother of five children, she was blessed when they married and began families of their own, receiving great joy when the grandchildren were added. For a time, she worked for Shelter Insurance and later for Lennox Industries in Stuttgart.

Cheryl was a member of the St Charles Baptist Church, serving as the church secretary and Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her father, William Shelby Dawson.

Immediate survivors include: husband, Mickey D. Johnson, Sr., of St Charles; mother, Edna Dawson, of Ethel; five children, Mat and Bethany Watkins, of Stuttgart, Steven and Jennifer Watkins, of Little Rock, Mickey Johnson, Jr., of DeWitt, Ginger and Tim Bogy, of St. Charles, and Amy and Roger Rieves, of DeWitt; five brothers, Lynn and Betty Dawson, of Ethel, Jimmy and Vicki Dawson, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Bill and Angela Dawson, of Hermitage, Jerry and Jan Dawson and Bud and Laura Dawson, all of Hamburg; grandchildren, Brandi Jo Simpson, AJ Pike (Gina), Alexa Pike, Karli Rieves, Hali Watkins, Hollyn Watkins, Riley Watkins; great grandchildren, Charli and Harper Simpson, and Andy Pike.

Services were January 9 at the St. Charles Baptist Church with burial in St. Charles Cemetery. Arrangements were by Bob Neal & Sons Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell.
