Mason “Buddy” Clifton, of Tumbling Shoals, passed away at the age of 72.

Buddy was born in Memphis, TN to the family of Mason W. and Myrtle Clifton. He graduated from Brinkley High School and continued his education at Ouachita Baptist University, where he met his wife Betty Anne Carlew. After marrying in 1967, Buddy and Betty moved to his hometown of Brinkley, where they owned and operated Clifton Printing Company, a commercial print shop and office supply store, for 38 years. They retired to Tumbling Shoals in 2012, where Buddy enjoyed fishing, boating, and family. He was also actively involved in Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Buddy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Anne Clifton, and his three children: Mason W. “Trey” Clifton III (Lana) of Maumelle, Amy Bell (Trey) of Maumelle, and Lorianne Clifton of Cabot. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Will and Emily Joshlin, Jessica and Mason Clifton, and Clifton Bell; and his sisters, Flora Jean Elledge, of Cabot, and Elma Frances Harper, of Brinkley.

The funeral service was held on January 17 at Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church, with Brad Johnson officiating. Jim McDaniel led the graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley. Funeral arrangements were handled by Heber Springs Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Will Joshlin, Clifton Bell, Tommy Vaughan, Jimmy Harper, Mason “Trey” Clifton, Rick Elledge, Ron Montgomery, and Steve Elledge.
