Lawrence W. “L.W.” Grayson, Sr. October 3, 1941 - February 7, 2020

Lawrence Grayson, of Holly Grove, died, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, at the age of 78. He was born in Holly Grove to Curtis Grayson, Sr. and Early Wilson-Grayson.
“L.W.” as Lawrence was affectionately known, received his education from the Holly Grove Public Schools. He was a lifelong member of First John Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove. He served as a member of the church’s Deacon Board for the last few years.
Lawrence was employed with Producers Rice Mill in Stuttgart for more than 10 years before retiring in 2009. He was formerly employed as a farmer with Boyce Hill Farms in Holly Grove for almost 20 years.
His parents, two grandchildren: Theresa Grayson-Block and Raymond E. Grayson Jr.; two brothers: Tate Wilson and Curtis W. Grayson Jr.; two sisters; Christine Johnson and Flayvee Herring all preceded Lawrence in death. Survivors are his wife of 60 years: Doris Henderson-Grayson, of Holly Grove; four sons: Lawrence W. (Doris) Grayson Jr., Charles E. Grayson and Raymond E. Grayson Sr., all of Holly Grove; and Earl (Stacy) Scott, of Houston, TX; a daughter Sandra Jean (James) Verges, of St,. Louis, MO; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a brother Sherman (Melodie) Bennett, of Clarendon; two sisters: Sherley Ann Jones, of Carrington, TX; and ViRose Bennett, of Helena; a sister in law Vera Mae Grayson, of Holly Grove; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 15 at First John Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove, with Pastor Tommy Green officiating. Interment took place at Hayes Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
