Courtney Davis, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Holly Grove, died at Novant Health-Matthews Medical Center in Charlotte, at the age of 31. Courtney was born in Stuttgart to Durene Naomi Davis and Carl Swift. He was raised in Holly Grove and attended the Holly Grove and Clarendon Public School System. He was a 2006 graduate of Clarendon High School. He attended St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with his family and friends.

After moving to Charlotte in 2018, Courtney was employed as a loader for Fed Ex for the last few months. He was a former employee of Producers Rice Mill in Stuttgart and T&S Sawmill in Clarendon.

His father, maternal grandfather Adolph Davis; paternal grandparents: Daisy Swift and Elisha Earnest; his maternal great grandparents: Benny Parks Sr. and Rachel Parks all preceded Courtney in death. Survivors are: his mother Durene Naomi Davis, of Stuttgart, three daughters: Alasia Dabbs, McKenzie Davis and Lyric Davis, all of Charlotte, NC; his fiancé Cassietta Dabbs, of Charlotte, NC; his maternal grandmother Archie Lee “Doanie’ Parks, of Holly Grove; a brother Carl (Shaundra) Jones, of Houston, TX; three sisters: Cornesha (Bobby) Burnett, of Brinkley; Correena Davis, of Holly Grove; and Kalesha Swift, of Little Rock; three nephews: Jordan Norwood, Landon Amos, Terron Jones; seven nieces: Persiah Tyler, Kaliah Tyler, Aislyn Burnett, Envy Poston, Lyric Swift, Lincoln Jones, and Logan Jones, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 22, at the Clarendon High School Auditorium, with Reverend William Black officiating. Interment took place at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
