Gladys Marie Miller December 18, 1931 - February 20, 2020

Gladys Miller, of Clarendon, went to her heavenly home, at the age of 88. Gladys was born in Holly Grove as the 8th child of the late Bertie Fox and Parzella Lefevers Fox.
Gladys, or “Boots” or “Bootsie” as many have known her, was always proud to claim her hometown of Holly Grove and her beloved Holly Grove Panthers. She was a sports fan through and through, playing basketball as a Panther in high school and cheering on the Hogs for life. Gladys spent many, many hours of her long-life fixing hair and visiting in her beauty shop, cooking for friends and family in her kitchen, or supporting her kids and grandkids at any event or activity they had.
She was born and raised a believer and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarendon for more than 50 years. Anyone who has known Gladys knows that she was the most hardworking, tender-hearted woman, who loved her family more than anyone could begin to imagine. She may have been able to point out areas of growth for her kids and grandkids, but to everyone else, she so fiercely defended their perfection. We have been so lucky to know and love her but now must live with a hole that no one can fill.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents and her seven siblings: Irene Fox, Noel Fox, Odell Fox, Dottie McKenzie, Willard Fox, Syble Chism, and Hollis “Bud” Fox. Those remaining to cherish her memories are her children, Janet Atkinson, Kenneth Miller, and Kathy (Mark) Hopson; her grandchildren, Larry (Melissa) Atkinson, Kayla Miller, Kody (Hannah) Miller, and Ashley Hopson; two great-grandchildren; Stella and Rhett Atkinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and some very dear family and friends. Graveside services were February 20 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon were entrusted to Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley
