Leomia Glass October 5, 1958 - February 15, 2020

Leomia Glass, of Cotton Plant, died Saturday at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 61. She was born in Cotton Plant to John Henry Glass and Vera Neal-Glass. Leomia received her education from the Cotton Plant Public School system and was a 1978 graduate of Cotton Plant High School. She also attended the White River Vocational Technical School in Newport for 2 years.

Leomia was a lifelong member of Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, where she served as a member and past President of the Usher Board, member of the Kitchen committee and member of the Missionary Society. She was employed as a Personal Home Health Care Aide for more than 40 years. She was employed with Kindred Home Health Services for 2 years before her health failed and she retired. She had been employed with Woodruff County Health unit for more than 37 years. She also did a lot of private duty work for several local prominent families in Woodruff County and Cotton Plant.

Her parents, her brother, John Henry Glass Jr., and two sisters: Willie B. Moten and Lanie Ruth Hancox all preceded Leomia in death. Survivors are: her daughter Nicole Glass-Carroll, of Cotton Plant; five grandchildren: La’Vera Carroll-Glass, of Little Rock; Lamar Carroll-Glass, of Conway; Kayla Carroll, of Murfreesboro, TN; Lea’ Carroll, of Fayetteville; and Lauren “Kocoa” Carroll, of Bryant; a great-grandson Declan Pressley, of Fayetteville; three sisters: Mollie Lou Hamberlin, of Milwaukee, WI; Ella B. (Richard) Farmer, of Little Rock; and Naomi Miller, of San Diego, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on February 23 at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, with Reverend Odell Haggans officiating. Interment took place at Ash Grove Cemetery by Branscumb Funeral Home of Brinkley
