Ludaniel Walker April 16, 1945 - February 26, 2020

Ludaniel Walker, of Wheatley, died at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock following a brief illness at the age of 74. He was born in Wheatley to James L. Walker Sr. and Hattie Mae Swanigan-Walker. Ludaniel was raised in Wheatley and attended Wheatley Central School District and Marian Anderson High School in Brinkley.

“Bae Brother”, as Ludaniel was affectionately known by his siblings, was a lifelong member of Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Wheatley. After relocating his family to Flint, Michigan in 1969, he became a member of Zion Hill Bible Church, where he served as a member of the church’s Deacon Board, Trustee and a member of the Transportation department. Since returning to Arkansas in the early 2000s, he reunited with Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church and has been a faithful member, serving as a member of the Deacon board.

Ludaniel was an employee of the General Motors Corporation in Flint, Michigan for more than 30 plus years before retiring and returning to Arkansas in 2000. While living in Flint, Ludaniel became a very active member of the Masons. He served as the Most Worshipful Master of the King Solomon Grand Lodge of Michigan AF&AM; member of King David Lodge No. 25, Wolverine Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Michigan and Queen Vesti Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

His parents, two brothers, Napoleon Walker and Charles A. Walker, and two sisters, Luvader McAdoo and Josephine Sparkman, all preceded Ludaniel in death. Survivors are: three sons: Ronald “Danny” (Nicole) Wash, of Stuttgart; Lee A. Walker and Ludaniel Walker Jr., both of Flint, MI; four daughters: Sherry Walker and Gale Walker, both of Houston, TX; Shante’ (Kory) James, of Rosenberg, TX and LaShanda Mansfield, of Flint, MI; fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a special friend, Mable Smith, of Wheatley; a brother, James Walker Jr., of Killeen, TX; three sisters: Valora (John) Wade, of Calumet City, Ill; Marva Brown, of Rockford, Ill; and Jessica Walker, of Desoto, TX; his brother in law, James McAdoo, of Wheatley; a sister in law, Opoetra Walker, of Wheatley; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 7 at the Brinkley Convention Center, with Reverend Wilford W. Banks officiating. Interment took place at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
