Bobby Earl Dollar June 22, 1936 - March 20, 2020

Bobby Dollar passed away at his home in Brinkley, at age 83. A son of Earl and Bessie (Hardin) Dollar, he was born in Russellville. He attended school in Altheimer and Des Arc. He married Shirley Ann Reynolds on May 13, 1960 and for most of their 60 years together, lived near Brinkley.
In the 1960’s Bobby worked in the logging industry, continuing for 8-10 years and then drove long haul for C & H Transport, while simultaneously working for O.F. Reynolds Farms. From 1973-1977, he served as Chief Deputy under Sherriff Larry Morris of Monroe County, then returned to work for O.F. Reynolds. In 1984 he began Bobby Dollar Trucking and in 1989 opened a repair shop, providing service for his trucks and others, fully retiring in 2003.
He enjoyed yard work, restoring his 1966 GMC pickup, (purchased in 1966) and a 1946 B John Deere tractor. As a youth he attended the Church of Christ and later in life attended those of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his: parents and five siblings, Billy Dollar, Floyd Dollar, James Dollar, Jerry Dollar and Evelyn McMhan.
Immediate family remaining includes his: wife, Shirley Dollar; three children and their spouses, Gary Dollar of Palestine, Johnny and Lori Dollar of Hunter, and Sherrie and Eric Kennedy of Colt; one brother, Phillip Dollar and wife, Paula of Roland; six grandchildren, Ethan Dollar, Paige Dollar, Mark Hood, Kyndal Dollar, Tyler Kennedy and wife, Bethany and Jessica Daniel and husband, Tyler; and one great-grandchild, Weston Tyler Kennedy.
Graveside services were March 25 at Upper Cemetery in Rich by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
