Bessie Quinn March 25, 1941 – March 21, 2020

Bessie Marie Quinn, passed away at Woodruff County Health Center in McCrory, at the age of 78. A daughter of Robert and Catherine (Jones) Nalley, she was born in Jessieville. In January of 1957, Bessie married Charles Edward Quinn and they began a family together in Brinkley and remained throughout life. Along with being a homemaker, she worked as a seamstress at the Van Heusen Shirt Factory for 23 years.

The vocation that became her true calling was in the church. Her childhood was spent in the Full Gospel Church of Brinkley and in 1969 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour and was baptized. She later surrendered to the call of the ministry and for eight years, served alongside her husband as a youth leader and pastor of the Church of God Of Prophecy in Clarendon. Sister Bessie served the Lord in ministry for a total of 42 years. Sadly, she experienced the passing of her husband of 54 years in 2011.

Sister Bessie was preceded in death by her: parents, Robert and Catherine Nalley; husband, Bro. Charles Quinn; three siblings, Winfred Nalley, Millie Anne Sexton and Lillie Mae Lancaster.

Immediate family remaining includes: three children and their spouses, Nick and Frankie Quinn of Zent, Cathy and Kim Medford of Brinkley and Linda and John Galante of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Bertha Smith and husband, Lonnie of Van Buren and Louise Paddy of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Jimmy Medford, Kathy Medford, Lauren Duclos, Nick Quinn Jr, and Jacob Quinn; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services were March 24 in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley by the Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley.
