Earnest Lee Bowerman April 26, 1931 - March 20, 2020

Lee Bowerman, of Brinkley, passed away at the Forrest City Medical Center, at the age of 88. A son of Francis Mitchell Bowerman and Millie Rachel (Middaugh) Bowerman, he was born in Bentonville, Arkansas. He received early education in Bentonville and later in life, received his diploma through the GED program.
On July 18, 1950, Lee entered the United States Army and began with basic training in Fort Smith. For three years, he served with the 112th Infantry Regiment, and included one year of overseas duty. On July 17, 1953, Msgt Bowerman received an honorable discharge in Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky.
On August 8, 1952, Lee married Mildred Norene Hallman and began family life in Cotton Plant. They were blessed with three children and in time moved to Brinkley, where they remained throughout life. For many years, he worked at Van Heusen Shirt Factory and later with Farris Fashions. Special times of enjoyment were spent fishing, hunting and repairing small appliances.
Lee was preceded in death by his: parents, Francis and Millie Bowerman; wife, Mildred Bowerman; two children, David Bowerman and Flossie Bowerman; three sisters, Louisa Kahl, Opal Davis and Freddie Dickson.
Immediate family remaining includes: one daughter, Ruth Ann Brown of Brinkley; one grandchild, Andrew Brown, one great-grandchild, Jaiden Brown; six brothers and their spouses, Raymond and Bobbie Sue Bowerman of Conway, James and Diana Bowerman of Atlanta, Georgia, F.M and Betty Bowerman of Cedarville, Jimmy Ray Bowerman of Bald Knob, Walter and Susanne Kendricks of Des Arc, and Jerry and Patsy Kendricks of McCrory.
Graveside services were held March 25 in the Cotton Plant Cemetery by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
