Anthony Luke Stewart April 28, 1956 – March 21, 2020

Anthony Luke Stewart, of Clarendon, died at the V.A. Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 63. Anthony was born in Clarendon to Lonnie B. Stewart Sr. and Juanita Hampton-Stewart. He was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon.
Having attended the Clarendon Public School System, Anthony was a 1974 graduate of Clarendon High School. He went on to further his educational endeavors by attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff from 1974 until 1975. After leaving UAPB, Anthony enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country from 1975 until1976 and received an honorable discharge. He worked as a police officer with the Little Rock Police Department for more than 15 years before seeking other employment opportunities. After returning to Clarendon, he went to work as a truck driver with Pettigrew Farms of Clarendon, where he worked for 5 years until his health began to fail.
His father; his son, Reginald “Moochie” Stewart, both preceded him in death. Survivors are his mother, Juanita Stewart of North Little Rock; two sons, Larenzo (Denise) Ketchum, of Little Rock, and Antonio Stewart, of Stuttgart; two daughters, Briana Stewart-Campbell, of St. Louis, MO, and Toni Renee Stewart, of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Lonnie B. (Mary Ann) Stewart Jr. and Thurman (Elizabeth Faye) Stewart, both of Little Rock, Stanley (Myra) Stewart of Clarendon, and Douglas (Nedra) Stewart, of Brinkley; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services were March 28 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon with Reverend Willie Gilmore officiating. Professional services were provided by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
