David Henry Morgan

David Henry Morgan, born January 10, 1944, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.

David was the son of the late Harvey C. Morgan and Margaret B. Donovan Morgan of Clarendon, Arkansas. He grew up in Clarendon, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, community, and the values that guided him throughout his life.  He graduated from Clarendon High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello.  He also served in the United States Navy.  

He married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Smith, on January 1, 1971, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned many years.

David dedicated over 30 years of service to the Arkansas State Unemployment Office, where he was known for his diligence and commitment to helping others. Outside of his work, he was an avid reader and bird watcher, finding great joy in the quiet appreciation of nature and learning.  He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  

David will be remembered for his kindness, his strong devotion to family, and the steady presence he provided for those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Morgan.

He is survived by his son, David Cameron Morgan and wife Shannon of Glendale, Arkansas; and his daughter, Victoria Kaitlyn Wishard and husband Jake of Monticello, Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Savannah Morgan and her fiancé, Drew Morphis; Josie Wishard, Isla Wishard, Keithan Wishard; and his great-granddaughter, Essie Synclair Morphis. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and funeral will be held at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City, AR on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM, with Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Rowell Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Village, 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, AR  71603.
