UPDATE: Monroe County has first confirmed case of COVID-19.

According to the Arkansas Health Department’s update today (4/3/2020), there is now a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Monroe County. Residents need to be more vigilant than ever about taking precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. The best thing everyone can do is to stay home - away from others, wash their hands properly regularly - every 20 minutes is recommended, keep your hands away from your face, and practice social distancing - maintain a 6 foot minimum distance between you and other people if you do have to get out.

Many citizens are understandably concerned about the risk of contracting the virus, especially those who are more susceptible to the more severe effects of the illness which include elderly people and those with underlying medical conditions that affect the ability to fight diseases.

Screening/Evaluation locations in Monroe County.

Mid-Delta Health Clinton in Clarendon, as well as Baptist Health Clinic and ARcare Medical Clinic all offer telehealth evaluations, screening and testing for the COVID-19 virus. Call one of those health care facilities to schedule an appointment where they will evaluate your over the phone. Screening is for people who are sick with flu-like symptoms. Not everybody who is sick needs to be tested. Anyone tested will receive a phone call about his or her test results.
