Charles Thomas Burns October 2, 1946 – March 30, 2020

Charles Burns of Moro passed away at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, at the age of 73. A son of George and Estelle Hendrix Burns, he was born in Moro, and two years later was joined by younger sister, Betty. He was a 1964 graduate of Brinkley High School and remained a lifetime resident of Moro.

Charles was employed as a supervisor at the Douglas & Lomason (Camaco) Company in Marianna, a supplier of automotive seating systems. He remained with the company forty years before officially retiring. He was known as a good, kind, and giving man, who loved quality time with family and friends. He married Virginia Manis on June 3, 1994, in Clarendon and received the special addition of her three daughters. Along with his son, Scott’s family, they all enjoyed the life of blended families. As an avid outdoorsman, Charles enjoyed being in the setting of nature, especially deer and turkey hunting. Various times during the year he liked to spend the day fishing at a favorite creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Estelle Burns. Immediate remaining survivors include his wife, Virginia Burns, of Moro; one son, Scott Burns, and wife, Jennifer, of Moro; three daughters, Vickie Shackleford and husband, Danny, of Forrest City, Penny Jackson, of Forrest City, and Kimberly Burns of Hunter; one sister, Betty Simpson, and husband, Jerry, of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Kody Moore, Amber Phillips, Kelsey Clark, Carrie Schindler, Parker Burns, Kara Burns, Grace Hutto, Madison Hutto, and Abbie Tippit; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on April 2 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro by the Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
