Marion Frank Shinnall passed away at his home in Jacksonville at the age of 76. A son of George and Ruth (French) Shinnall, he was born in the small farming community of Moro. At some point in time, Frank’s family moved to Southern California, where he received education at Canoga Park High School. He married Judy Rae Batchelor and together they shared in the raising of three children, Wendy, Carrie Lynne and Keith. He and Judy continued to live in California for a while and then moved back to Arkansas in 1977, making their home first in North Little Rock and then in Jacksonville.

Frank was employed as a truck driver for H.E. McConnell & Son Trucking in North Little Rock. After many long hours on the road, he looked forward to time at home with Judy and the family. Known as “Pappydad” to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Frank had a genuine and unique relationship with each and every one. As a hobby he enjoyed reading about the Confederate history and collecting Civil War artifacts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Shinnall; and one daughter, Wendy Shinnall (3-18-2020). Survivors include his wife, Judy Shinnall, of Jacksonville; two children and their spouses, Carrie Lynne and Bill Hall, of Valrico, Florida, and Keith and Sharon Shinnall of Cabot; sisters, Betty Carter and husband, Clark, and Deborah Shinnall, all of Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were April 16 at Salem Cemetery near Moro by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
