Elizabeth Ruth Searcy- Rasberry November 29, 1935 – April 23, 2020

Elizabeth Searcy-Rasberry, of Stuttgart, passed away at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 84. She was born to the late Freeman and Annie Searcy in Cache, and was the youngest of six children. She attended Everett-Pinkley School. Elizabeth confessed a hope in Christ at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where she was also baptized.
She met & married Willie (Allen) Franklin, Jr. She lived the early part of her adult life in Clarendon, and Stuttgart, and later moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met and married Alphonzo Cooper Rasberry, Jr., after which they relocated to Indianola, Mississippi, and then Stuttgart. After returning to Stuttgart, she moved her membership to Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Byrd. She was a faithful member until her health started to fail.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; husband, Alphonzo Cooper Rasberry; one daughter, Verlene; two sons, Charles and Wayne; one grandchild, Kyle; one step-son, Reggie; one step-daughter, Betty; and her five siblings, Varnell, Blanche, Tossie Bell, Adolphus (Uncle Tank), and Mary Lee. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Thurman), of Little Rock, Paul Lawrence, of North Little Rock, Norma Rena (Don), Yvonne Zanette, Efrem, Carol, and Willie Earl (Gena), all of Stuttgart; one step-son, Dwayne, of McClemons, MI; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from 6:30PM – 7:30PM at Relerford Funeral Home in Stuttgart. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 11AM at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon. Professional services are entrusted to Relerford Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
