Vera Mae McCrystal July 21, 1951 - April 22, 2020

Vera Foster McCrystal, of Carlisle, passed away at her daughter’s home in Brinkley at the age of 68. She was the daughter of Jim and Maggie Foster. The family home was located in Marianna, where Vera received formal education at T.A. Futrall.

She was blessed in life to become a homemaker and mother to three children and was given the added joys of seeing them mature and begin families of their own. Outside the home, Vera work at several sewing factories until 2005. For the last 15 years she worked as a caregiver for several people in her community. In leisure time, Vera enjoyed reading, working with crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Raised in the Christian faith, she knew the importance of a relationship with Christ. From childhood she attended services with her family at the Church Of God Of Prophecy. Later in life, when her health became a daily challenge, she enjoyed being able to attend live services on Facebook.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Bob and Maggie Lee Foster; brother, James Foster; and sister, Mary Micholas. She is survived by sons, Marty Elliot and wife, Phetcharapon, of Jonesboro, and Jim Bob Elliot and wife, Montra, of Murphy, Texas; a daughter, Bonnie Hollowell and husband, Bruce, of Brinkley; brothers, Jimmy Foster and wife, Joyce, of Jonesboro, Dwight Foster and wife, Martha, of Texas, and John Foster, of Bonita, LA; sisters, Mildred Prim and husband, Kenneth, of Bossier City, LA, and Kaye Whiteman of Alabama; 6 grandchildren, D.J. McMickle, Clarissa Peyton and husband, Dylan, Christain Elliott, Brian Elliott and wife, Kaylea, Hannah Elliott, and Tyler Elliott; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Peyton and Adelaide Elliott.
