Jimmy Larrell Wiley December 26, 1946 – April 19, 2020

Jimmy Wiley, of Maumelle, passed away at the age of 73. He was born in Augusta, to Luby and Hazel Wiley. The family moved to Marvell in 1959. After graduating from Marvell High School in 1967, he attended UCA in Conway and earned his B.S.E. He taught English for a short time at Marvell Jr. High and Elaine High. He resided for several decades in New Orleans, LA and taught English until he retired in 2006.

Jimmy had a dry wit and enjoyed writing short stories, sketching, antiques, old house, growing beautiful flowers, reading and caring for his Pekingese. He even rode out Hurricane Katrina in his home because he refused to leave his dogs to be evacuated. He loved living near the French Quarter and enjoyed throwing lavish parties at his home. He moved to Maumelle in 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Jim Burgess; five brothers, Boyce, Paul, Jerry, Bobby, and an infant; two sisters, Mona Wiley Chisnall and Carolyn Wiley Dickson. Survivors are one sister, Tona Wiley Mills (J.C.); and one adopted brother, Rickey Burgess (Anna).

Graveside services April 22 at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.
