Hermon Ford July 25, 1947 - May 5, 2020

Hermon Ford, of Lonoke, formerly of Carlisle, died at his home following a brief illness at the age of 72. He was born in Hickory Plains to Milton Ford and Creamola Bradley, and received his formal education from the Hickory Plains community public schools.
In the late 1960’s Hermon moved to Los Angeles, California, where he lived and worked for more than a year before returning to Arkansas to make a life for himself. He was a lifelong member Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Hickory Plains. He served as the church’s cemetery caretaker/maintenance person for many years. Hermon was employed as a farmer with Jerry Bell Farms of Hickory Plains for more than 40 plus years before retiring in 2003.
His mother and father; two brothers, Less Williams and Guss Williams; and a sister, Virginia Wilson, all preceded him in death. Survivors are two brothers, O.C. Williams of North Little Rock, and Thornell Williams, of Des Arc; seven sisters, Ezetta (Earnest) Harper, Justina Thomas, Barbara Gale (James) Tom, and Lisa Jackson, all of Carlisle, Dorothy Jean Scruggs and Clo (Leland Sr.) Robinson, both of Des Arc, and Maud (Dana) Hood, of Lonoke; two aunts, Patricia Roddy of DeValls Bluff, and Rose Williams, of Hickory Plains; special friends, Carrie Burnett and James and Rose Bolick, all of Carlisle; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousin and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday morning, May 16 at 11 AM at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Highway 13 and Price Road in Hickory Plains with Reverend Lee Coleman officiating. Arrangements are by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
