Virginia Hayes-Privett March 22, 1954 - May 10, 2020

Virginia Hayes-Privett, of Brinkley, died at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City at the age of 66. She was born in Brinkley to Willie Hayes Sr. and Ruby Reed-Hayes, and received her formal education from the Brinkley Public School System.
“Gennie” as she was lovingly known, was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley, where she served as a church usher. Virginia was employed with Cla-Clif Nursing and Rehab Center in Brinkley for many years. She was also a former employee of Van Heusen Shirt Factory, Farris Fashions, Brinkley Motors, in Brinkley, and at Bellville Shoe Factory in Forrest City. Having worked as a sales representative for the Avon Company for over 30 years, Virginia was the #1 sales agent in her district. She was also a member of the Brinkley School District PTA Association for 2 years.
Her parents; three brothers, Willie Hayes Jr., Lavelle Hayes and L.P. Hayes Sr.; and a sister, Willie Mae Hayes, all preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of 50 years, Frank Privet of Brinkley; two sons, Franklin L. (Tracey) Privett of Jonesboro, and Jermaine Privett, of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Josette Privett of Brinkley; eight grandchildren, Luke Harvey Jr., of Paragould, Symphony Privett, of Jackson, MS; Deirra Privett, and Janeisha Harston, both of Brinkley, Jermaine Privett Jr., of Little Rock, Franklin D. Privett, of Jonesboro, Kamirra D. Privett, of Mesquite, TX, and Francesca Privett, of Pampanga, Philippines; two great-grandchildren, Ruben Esparanza, of Mesquite, TX, and Jaden Privett, of Little Rock; two brothers, Kurp Hayes, of Jonesboro, and Delean Burnett, of Flint, MI; three sisters, Delcie Mae (Leon) Pye, of Chickasha, OK, Annie Mae (Johnny) Jones, of Sherwood, and Virgetina Bovan, of Jonesboro; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Hayes, of Brinkley; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday afternoon, May 16 at 3 PM at Haven of Rest Cemetery, First Street in Brinkley with Reverend Joseph Lee officiating, Arrangements are by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley. Pallbearers are: Jermaine Jones, Johnny Jones Jr., Daniel Paul Jones, Roger Privett III, Franklin D. Privett and Dequawn Brown.
