Del Narcus Taylor March 22, 1935-May 18, 2020

Del Taylor, of Des Arc, passed away at his home in the Northside Community surrounded by family, at the age of 85. He was born to Raymond and Muriel Taylor. In his early years he mowed grass, worked at the saw mill, and was a mussel shell fisherman. He eventually went to work at the International Harvester in Des Arc and Brinkley, where he was known as a good mechanic in the areas. Del started farming in the early 80s for several years. He eventually went back working for himself as a mechanic in the area.
Del started in 1985 as a towboat engineer, where he worked until retiring. Afterwards, he worked for the Holloway Farms doing what he enjoyed for years until his health made him retire once again. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. There was always fish fries or BBQ and baked beans. As Del’s health started to deteriorate toward the end he surrendered to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel; father, Raymond; sister, Peggy; son,, Aaron; daughter, Brenda; and granddaughter, Laura. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Del Jr., Robert, and Rickey; a daughter, Barbara; son-in-law, Floyd; sister, Nell Roach; and brother, Steve.
A memorial service was held Friday, May 22 at Judson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Des Arc with Bro. Kevin Sterling officiating. Cremation arrangements were by Garth Funeral Home of Des Arc.
