Danny Lee Brown of Augusta passed away at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy at the age of 61. He was born in Fitzhugh, to June Dave Brown and Ethel Lou Maddox-Brown. He was the widower of Brenda Townsend Brown. Danny was a lifelong member of New Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta.

Danny received his education from the Augusta Public School System, and was a member of the Augusta High School graduating class of 1978. He was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Townsend of Augusta in March 1988.

“Dino” or “The Great One” as Danny was affectionately known, was a former employee of the City of Augusta for more than 15 years before retiring. During his earlier years, he had been a former employee of Collier Farms in Augusta for several years. Danny was a huge sports fan. When he was younger and attending high school he played football and basketball for Augusta School District. Over the years, he also enjoyed the L.A. Lakers and Chicago Bulls (NBA Teams) and the Dallas Cowboys (NFL Team). Through the years, Danny enjoyed fishing, traveling in large semi-trucks with his family and friends, and spending time with family and friends. One thing Danny will truly be remembered for is his sense of humor.

His parents; his wife; a grandson, Jameski Bibbs; and a brother, Larry Brown, all preceded Danny in death. Survivors are: five sons, Daniel Townsend and Tyler Brown, both of Little Rock, Albert Townsend, of Augusta, DeMorris Brown, of Everett, WA, and Finus (Kayla) Brown, of Benton; four daughters, Tameka Townsend, Kesia Townsend and Kirby (Brice) Brown-Davis, all of Little Rock, and Tijuana (Aubrey) Brown-Reeder, of Augusta; twenty-two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Bobby (Dorothy) Brown, Stevie (Judy) Brown, Alan (Stephanie) Brown, Derrick Brown, Willie Brown and Darrell Brown, all of Augusta, Jerry (Stella) Brown, of Los Angeles, CA, and Jerome (Doris) Brown, of Searcy; a sister, Patricia Smith, of Rochester, NY; two special friends, Richard Moore and Willie Lee Brown, both of Augusta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
