Lowell Vernon Cage Jr. December 1, 1950 - June 8,2020

Lowell Vernon Cage, Jr., of Benton, went to be with his Lord and Savior, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville at the age of 69. JR, as he was known to his friends, was born in Holly Grove and graduated from Holly Grove High School. After high school, he went to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C., and retired in December 2005. He lived in Benton until moving to Fayetteville in June 2019, due to developing dementia.

He had a very active life. He was an airplane pilot, a black belt in karate and a scuba diver. He was an avid hunter and spent at least two weeks each year hunting in Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana. He also qualified numerous times for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commissions elite Triple Trophy Award. He had a great career with the F.B.I. and received many awards and commendations. He also made many lifelong friends with the F.B.I. He was a Christian and a very active member of LRC (Little Rock Church). He worked tirelessly with the food bank and feed the homeless programs within the church. He was also very active with the Humane Society of Saline County in Bauxite.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Vernon Cage, SR, and Fannie Mae Cage of Holly Grove. JR is survived by his sister, Karen Cage (Wayne) Lindley, of Prairie Grove; nephew, Kyle Lindley, of Hot Springs; niece, Miki (Todd) Rousseau, of Fayetteville; and grandnephews, William and Reed Rousseau, of Fayetteville.

There was no funeral service, but a memorial celebration will be held later at the Little Rock Church. Cremation arrangements were by Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
