William Lynch passed away at his home in Clarendon at the age of 80. A son of William and Susie (Ingram) Lynch, he was born in Monroe and received formal education at Brinkley Elementary and Clarendon High School. During high school, William began a friendship with Gracie Dunbar that led to marriage on May 21, 1960. The ceremony took place at the Presbyterian Church and shortly thereafter they left for their new home in Memphis. They were blessed to raise three children and after thirty years, William retired from public work. In 1990, the family moved back to Monroe County, settling in Clarendon. He and Gracie shared 55 years of life together before her death on June 8, 2015.

William enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising a large garden, which he shared among family and friends. Upon returning to Clarendon, he began to attend the First Assembly Of God Church and on May 17, 2009, was baptized and remained a faithful member through the years.
