John Owen Eugene Young October 8, 1935 – June 5, 2020

John Owen Eugene Young, age 84, of Rose Bud, passed away at his home in Rose Bud at the age of 84. He was born in Moro and was the third born child to Assemblies of God ministers, John Henry and Mary Sophia Barger Young. John was a faithful member of Rose Bud Assembly of God Church in Rose Bud, and had a lifelong love for the Lord and desired to serve him, exemplified through his committed service to God. He married Mattie Lee Burnett on November 28, 1953. John served as Assemblies of God pastor in Arkansas. Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years at Caldwell Milling in Rose Bud.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Young; his wife, Mattie Young; their daughter, Martha Jane, and her husband, David Bearden; sisters, Wilma Holder and Lois Askins; brother, Tom Young; and other beloved family members. He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Longagin and Judy (Robert) Loosier; one son, John O. "Joey" (Candie) Young; ten grandchildren, Katherine Allwood, Jamie MacNabb, Bobby Reeves, Daphne Earnest, Gabrielle Loven, Michael Bearden, Phoenix Bearden, Jonathon Young, Brandon Young, and Tiffany Mayabb; fourteen great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Bobbie Bowerman, Mary Barnard, Reta Caldwell, Thelma Morgan, Patsy Hodges, and Marg Moore.

Visitation and the celebration of John's life and home-going were at the Rose Bud Assembly of God Thursday, June 11, under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Interment followed at Rose Bud Cemetery.
