Kathryn Elizabeth Loewer February 17, 1925 - June 16, 2020

Kathryn Elizabeth Loewer of Goodwin passed away at the age of 95. Born in Brinkley, she was the first child to the family of Ernest and Elizabeth Marie Loewer. Kathryn received formal education through the public schools and became a 1942 graduate of Brinkley High School. She chose to continue her studies at Ouachita Baptist University, became a graduate of Baylor University, and went on to attend the University of Texas, whereupon completion obtained her Bachelor’s Degree. In a working career, Kathryn worked as a bookkeeper for the Herman Young Grain Company (Bunge) and also as a teacher at Monroe Academy in Wheatley.

As a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Brinkley, she knew the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ. She was active through the years as a Sunday school teacher for the College and Career Class as well as with the high school-age kids. Through the years she touched the hearts of young adults and will be remembered by many for the influence she had in their lives.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Loewer Sr.; and brother, Ernest Loewer Jr. She is survived by a brother, Robert C. Loewer and wife, Patricia, of Brinkley; and sister, Martha J. Caudle, of Brinkley.

Funeral services were June 19 at Brinkley First Baptist Church with burial following at Johnson Cemetery in Wheatley. Arrangements were by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley.
