Martha Heavner May 1, 1941 - June 29, 2020

Martha Louise Heavner passed away at her home at the age of 79. A daughter of Richard and Viola Brown, she was born in Brinkley, and lived part of early life in the Pleasant Valley community. She was a 1959 graduate of Brinkley High School.

Martha and Ed Heavner were married October 9, 1958 and have remained a vital part of Brinkley and surrounding communities. They were blessed with one son, Tim. For a time, she worked at Van Heusen Shirt Factory and then became owner of Martha’s Beauty Salon. For 37 years, she greeted ladies of the community with a warm and loving demeanor. After retiring from her own business, she gave a helping hand to Jennifer’s Sassy Cutz Salon.
Along with caring for the family, Martha enjoyed cooking and working in the garden. Martha experienced the love and saving Grace of Jesus at an early age and first attended Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Later she moved membership to Brinkley Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member for the past 60 years.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; Richard Otis Brown and Viola Elizabeth Faulkner Brown, siblings, Leo Joseph Brown and Mary Brown Patton; two brother-in-laws, Wayne Patton and Carl Gunter.

Immediate family remaining includes her husband of 62 years, Edmond Warren Heavner of Fargo; son, Tim Heavner and wife, Jennifer of Brinkley; grandchildren,

Colton Heavner, Tyler Lumpkin, Craig Wiggins, Matthew Robinson; great granddaughter, Maddie Wiggins; sister, Nellie Gunter of Stuttgart and sister-in-law, Martha Ann Brown of Olive Branch.

Services were July 2 at Brinkley Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery by the Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
