Lula Mae Tucker -Baker July 28, 1939 – July 1, 2020

Lula Mae Tucker-Baker of Brinkley passed away at her home at the age of 80. She was born in Brinkley to Clem Tucker Sr. and Ardelia Parks-Tucker. Lula was raised in Brinkley and attended the Brinkley Public Schools and Marian Anderson High School.

Lula was a member of Brown Chapel CME Church in Brinkley for 20 years under the leadership of Reverend Willie Branch. She was formerly a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, also in Brinkley. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother to her husband and children.

Her parents; her husband; her son, Anthony Baker; her grandson, Thomas Earl Baker Jr.; four brothers, Robert Tucker Sr., Clem Tucker, Willie Tucker and Petrice Tucker; and three sisters, Pearlie Mae Wynne, Dorothy Mae Thomas and Josie Brown, all preceded her in death. Survivors are: four sons, Carl Baker, of Little Rock, Thomas E. (Janet) Baker Sr., of Brinkley, Barry Baker, of West Palm Beach, FL, and Earl Baker Jr., of Peoria, Ill; her daughter, Charlotte Baker, of Brinkley; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie (Lee Vader) Tucker, of Brinkley; one sister, Minnie Lee Tucker, of Brinkley; four sisters-in-law, Thelma Tucker, of Brinkley, Maggie Tucker, of Dardanelle, Emma Cohen, of Little Rock, and Erma Tucker, of Chicago, Ill; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held July 11 at Mount of Olive Ministries in Brinkley with Reverend Willie Branch officiating. Interment took place at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Brinkley by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
