Darrell Kent Vanderburg May 13, 1963 – July 10, 2020

Darrell Kent Vanderburg, of Maumelle, passed away at the age of 57. Darrell was born in Brinkley to the late Donald Eugene and Dorothy Imogene Ousley Vanderburg. He lived an extraordinary life. At the age of 7, he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and by the age of 13, was confined to a wheelchair. Although he was physically disabled, he always focused on his abilities. Darrell graduated 4th out of 457 in 1981 from Parkview High School. Those that knew him, loved him and in turn, he loved people. Having the gift of gab, Darrell especially loved visiting with neighbors and anyone that was taking a stroll around Lake Willastein, which was near his home. He also freely shared his testimony and love of Jesus. He spent untold hours reading and studying his Bible. Darrell loved all his four-legged friends, whether a dog or one of his cows. He was a member of the Little Rock First Baptist Church when he was able to attend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Eugene Vanderburg. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Imogene Vanderburg, of Maumelle; sister, Devonna Faye Vanderburg, and husband, James G. “Cully” Culpepper III, of Maumelle.
Funeral services were July 14 at Little Rock’s First Baptist Church. Burial was at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
