Emma Mae Cohns January 1, 1930 – July 14, 2020

Emma Mae Cohns of Little Rock. formerly of Brinkley, passed away at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 90. She was born in Moro to Robert and Mary Bondon. She was the youngest of four siblings. Emma was married to Woodie Cohns
She attended her early years of school and church in Moro and attended the Mount Canaan Baptist Church, one-room school through 8th grade. Her high school years were spent at the Brinkley Academy, later changed to White River Consolidated School. Emma’s parents and older sister, Juanita, were blessed and sacrificed to send her to this prestigious school. Emma was a dedicated member of New Light M.B. Church in Brinkley, and also attended the Church of the Living God. After many years, she moved to Little Rock to live with her daughter.
Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; a daughter, Marissa K. Carter; and two sons, Albert G. Craig and Homer L. Carter; her siblings, Charlie Bondon, Juanita Bondon-Burnett, and Robert Bondon (RB). Those who remain to cherish loving memories are five daughters, Paula (Arthur) Hines, Cynthia (Ike) Laster, Octavia (George) Beverly, and Loretta Carter and Deborah K. Carter; two sons, Frederick and Glendale Carter; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grands; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to COVID restrictions, family hour was a public walkthrough (mask required) Friday, July 24 at the Mount of Olives Ministries in Brinkley. A private funeral and burial services (mask required) for children and grandchildren only followed at Mount Of Olives Ministries with Reverend Oscar Conyears, pastor, officiating. Burial was at the Haven of Rest Cemetery in Brinkley by McNeal-Coleman Funeral Home of Brinkley.
