Maecola Ratliff March 1, 1939 - August 13, 2020

Maecola Ratliff, of Holly Grove, died at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 81. She was born in Holly Grove to Ada Mae Cox and Richard Ratliff, Sr. She was the eldest child born to this union.

“Mae Squeaky” or “Squeak”, as Maecola was affectionately known, never married or had children of her own, but was a very instrumental figure in the rearing of her younger siblings, nephews and nieces. She was a gifted seamstress and well known for kindheartedness and sassy always speak your mind personality. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Her parents, two brothers: Richard Ratliff Jr. and Ray Ratliff; four sisters: Doris Wallace, Betty Brown, Rosemary Cartwright and Loral Ratliff all preceded Maecola in death. Survivors are: two brothers: Roy Ratliff and Roger Ratliff, both of Holly Grove; three sisters: Virginia Fletcher and Wilsie Smith, both of Holly Grove; and Mildred Wright of Little Rock; a brother-in-law Billy Cartwright of Holly Grove; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 22, at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove with Reverend William Black officiating. Service were provided by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
