Earnease Whitman November 22, 1945 – September 4, 2020

Earnease Whitman of West Memphis, formerly of Brinkley, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 74. She was born in Brinkley to James Whitman Sr. and Earnestine Thomas. Earnease received her education from the Brinkley Public School system.
She was a longtime member of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Brinkley, under the leadership of Elder Willie L. Harvey and Mother Lee Etta Harvey. “Nease” as she was lovingly known, enjoyed a quiet and simple county life. She enjoyed cooking, studying her Bible and attending church on a regular occasion.
Her parents; a brother, James Whitman Jr.; two sisters, Parthenia Chism and Katherine Simons; and two brothers, Robert Whitman and James Whitman Jr. all preceded her in death. Survivors are eight brothers, Harold Thomas, Ervin Thomas, Clarence Bates and Troy (Areatha) Whitman, all of Brinkley, Claudel (Ruthie) Whitman, of Moro, Julius (Vanessa) Whitman, of Little Rock, Eugene Whitman, of Toledo, and Jeremiah Whitman, of Virginia Beach, VA; five sisters, Delois Whitman, of Brinkley, Earlene Thomas, of Los Angeles, CA, Lula (Daniel) Palmer, of Moro, and Ardenia Griffin and Inez Whitman, both of Forrest City; and a host of nephews, nieces cousins and friends.
There was no formal funeral, graveside or interment service. Professional services were by Branscumb, Johnson and Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
