Willard Dean McCoy December 9, 1941 – September 20, 2020

Willard Dean “W.D.” McCoy, formerly of Holly Grove, passed away in Claremore, OK at the age of 78, due to ongoing battle of prostate cancer and dementia, surrounded by his family. He was born in Center Ridge to Hurley and Gertie Wilson McCoy.
In 1950 he moved with his family to Holly Grove, where he spent most of his life. Willard was baptized in Christ on August 17th 1968 at Shiloh Church of Christ in Holly Grove. He farmed and was an auto body mechanic from 1965 to 1983 in Holly Grove. In 1993, he moved with his wife to Oklahoma and worked at an auto salvage before retiring in 1997. W.D. enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, and participating in demolition derby’s and drag races. He also loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hurley and Gertie McCoy; twin brothers, Earl and Mearl; a sister, Margie Lee Smith; and a brother, Edward Earl McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda J. McCoy; daughter, Caroline Nelson and husband, Robert, of Owasso, Oklahoma; son, Lonnie Earl McCoy and wife, Jessica, and their children, Garrett, Newt, and Patricia, all of Greenbrier; granddaughter, Ashley Gibson and husband, Travis, and their children, Ellie, Brighton, and Conrad Blom, of Owasso, Oklahoma; sisters, Thelma Smith and husband, James, of Clarendon, and Linda Livingston and husband, Bill, of Columbus, GA; half-sister, Sandra Kay Ivy and husband, Demetri, of Arlington, TX; and “brother,” Roger Baldwin and wife, Judy, of Cleveland.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 25 at Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, #5 Bruce St., in Morrilton. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Center Ridge by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.
