LaTerrence Ray Brown Sr. May 17, 1978 - September 14, 2020

LaTerrence Brown, Sr., of Clarendon, passed away in Brinkley due to an auto accident, at the age of 42. He was born in Stuttgart to Willie Gilmore and Vera Houston-Gilmore.

“Sugar Ray”, as he was affectionately known, was raised in the Clarendon community and along with his family attend Union Missionary Baptist Church. After his father was appointed as senior pastor, he then went on to attend Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church. LaTerrence attended Clarendon Public Schools.

LaTerrence was employed as a fork Lift operator with Lennox Industries in Stuttgart for the last 3 months of his life. He was formerly employed Porter Seed in Roe and Scotts Industrial also in Stuttgart.

His sister Chantell M. Hill, his companion Shannon Spears, maternal grandmother Mary Lou Houston and paternal grandfather all preceded LaTerrence in death. Survivors are: his wife Raven Hayes-Brown of DeWitt; his son LaTerrence Brown Jr.; two daughters: Aliceia Brown and Crystalynn Watson; his parents: Reverend Willie Gilmore and Vera Houston-Gilmore; his maternal grandfather Roosevelt Houston and paternal grandmother Ola Mae (Lonzo) Miller, all of Clarendon; two brothers: Willie Lee (Eboni) Gilmore and Marcus Gilmore both of Little Rock; two sisters: LaTrice (Titus) Gilmore-Lee of Little Rock; and Salnette Teague of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 27 at 2 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley with Reverend Willie Gilmore officiating. Interment will take place at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
