Roy Charles Brown September 24, 1946 – November 2, 2019

Roy Brown passed away in Clarendon, at the age of 73. The son of Jim and Flora (Brimer) Brown, he was born in Monroe and remained a resident of Monroe County throughout his life. Very much a family man, Roy was blessed to be the father of two children, and through the years, enjoyed spending fun times and activities with them and the grandchildren.
He was skilled in heavy equipment operation and worked many years for the L&N Asphalt Company in Stuttgart. Later in life, he contracted his skill and bulldozer to other jobs. He and his #8 red and white Winged Sprint Car often competed in car racing at the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock. He also enjoyed fishing and water skiing on the White River.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John Brown. Immediate remaining family includes children; Jason Brown of Clarendon and Heather Mealler and husband, Johnny, of Carlisle; siblings, Ray Brown and wife, Kathy, Louise Grady Smith and husband, Doug, all of Aberdeen, and Helen Duncan and husband, Doyle, of El Dorado; grandchildren, Ashton Mealler, Carson Mealler and Shelby Brown and great grandson, Collin Mealler.
Graveside services were held November 9 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Clarendon.
