Robert Genoa Brown January 18, 1934 - September 16, 2020

Robert Brown, of McCrory, passed away at his home, at the age of 86. Robert was born in McCrory to Genoa Brown and Virtrue Wilson-Brown. While growing up in McCrory, Robert and his family attended the Lone Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Robert was a 1954 graduate of Brown/Williams High School in McCrory. After graduating high school, Robert enlisted into the United State Air Force from 1954 until 1957 and received an honorable discharge. He went on to continue his education when he attended the City College of San Francisco in San Francisco, California where he received a bachelor’s degree.
Robert was employed with the Environmental Protection Agency/City of San Francisco as a Supervisor for several years before retiring in 1992. Since returning to Arkansas in the 1990s, he became a member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Patterson where he has remained a faithful member.
His parents and brother, Nathaniel Brown, preceded Robert in death. Survivors are his wife of 23 years, Allener Poindexter-Brown, of McCrory; two sons: Jerry Snyder of Phoenix, AZ; and Quincy Poindexter of Lake Benton, MN; four daughters: Karen Brown of Jonesboro; Angela Poindexter of Conway; LaDonna Poindexter of McCrory and Denise Poindexter of Champaign, Ill; his goddaughter Cyndia Chambers of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother Eldridge Brown of Chicago, Ill; two sisters: Annie Watson of Stone Mountain, GA; and Ruby Hart of Snellville, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A walk-through visitation will be held on Friday evening, September 25 from 6 until 8 PM at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 114 Olive Street in Patterson. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26, at 10 AM at New Quiet Cemetery, Highway 33 North in Augusta with Reverend Felix Duckworth officiating. Services provided by Branscumb Funeral Home of Brinkley.
