Willie Jean Cofield August 6, 1944 - September 22, 2020

Willie Jean Cofield passed away at the Adventist Health Care in Sonora, California at the age of 76. A daughter of Manis and Erma (Callahan) Hendrickson, she was born in Clarendon. At the time of her birth the family lived in the nearby community of Aberdeen and in time she became a 1962 graduate of Clarendon High School.
Lonnie Cofield of Pleasanton, California often visited his Clarendon family during the summer. During one of those visits he met Willie Jean and she knew immediately that he would be the love of her life. They were married May 8, 1964 and she happily began her new role as wife and homemaker. Their home knew the joy of raising two children and were blessed to share 56 years of marriage.
As a child she attended the First Baptist Church in Aberdeen and was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Pleasanton. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, canning, cooking, crocheting, reading and adding to her collection of figurines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manis and Erma Hendrickson; and one brother, Larry Hendrickson. Immediate survivors include her husband, Lonnie Earl Cofield, of Copperopolis, California; children, David Nicholas Cofield, of Stuttgart and Kerry LeAnne Myers, of Copperopolis; three siblings, Roger Hendrickson, of Aberdeen, Sandra Cook and husband, Robert, of Clinton, and Allene Powell and husband, Jim, of Roe; five grandchildren, Taylor Myers, Paula Myers Camden, Emily Cofield, Hunter Cofield and Zachary Hoffman; and one great-grandchild, Jeremiah Camden.
Services were October 2 at the First Baptist Church with burial in the Roc Roe Cemetery, both located in Aberdeen. Arrangements were by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home Clarendon.
