Nathaniel Palton November 17, 1938 – September 17, 2020

Nathaniel “Jam-Up” Palton1 of Biscoe passed away at his home at the age of 81. He was born in Biscoe to George Palton and Estella Johnson-Palton. He was the fourth of eight children born to this union. He was the widower of Lovie Mae Walker-Palton.
“Jam-Up” as Nathaniel was loving known by all who knew him, was a longtime (40 plus years) member of the Biscoe Church of God in Christ in Biscoe. He was self-employed as logger from many years, and was also employed as a farmer for several local logging/farm families throughout the years JW Walker, Nail Farms, Cook Family Farms, and several others. With a comedic wit and a great sense of humor, Nathaniel always possessed an ability to make anyone laugh. He enjoyed talking and especially telling a good joke. He always taught his children and his nephews the value of hard work and to be able to make a living and to hustle for the things they wanted in life.
His parents; his wife; one son, Nathaniel Palton Jr.; a brother, Cophus Lee Palton; two sisters, Georgia Lee Yancy and Emma Jean Williams, all preceded him in death. Survivors are four sons, Nathan Palton, of Atlanta, GA, Jonas Palton, of Biscoe, and Jason Palton and Roger Tyrone Palton, both of Jacksonville; two daughters, Lola (Kenneth) Adams, of Jonesboro, and Cornelius Ann (John) Winters, of Jacksonville; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ulessly (Martha) Palton, of Kansas City, MO, and Robert (Julia) Palton, of Biscoe; two sisters, Lottie B. McCullough and Maxine Jones, both of Biscoe; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
