Barbara Grace Holmes March 18, 1949 – September 29, 2020

Barbara Grace Davis Holmes (Bobbey) (MeMe) passed away at her home in Romance at the age of 71, surrounded by family after a long battle with COPD. Bobbey was born in Little Rock to W.A. Davis Jr. and Gloria Ann Davis Staggs. She is one of three children.
Bobbey attended Lawson Elementary and Cloverdale Jr. High and High School. She graduated from LaVern’s Beauty College in 1967, and while there received trophies and awards for best in her class. She received first place in competitions featuring iconic hairstyles defining the 1960’s and 1970’s, specifically the flip and beehive. Throughout her lifelong career as a beautician, she worked for Mane Event in Little Rock, owned Bobbey’s Hair Fashions, also in Little Rock, and Bobbey’s Mane Event, a shop she opened in Brinkley and retired from. She was exceptionally talented, evident by her many customers, who happily drove over an hour, one way, every week to sit in her salon chair after she relocated. Bobbey regularly volunteered many hours of her time to work with cancer patients at organizations like Locks of Love.
Second to her relationship with God, her children were the most important part of her life. She masterfully designed two of her homes, and there she enjoyed caring for her family. She cross-stitched and loved working in her yard.
Bobbey was preceded in death by her father and mother, W.A. Davis Jr and Gloria Ann Staggs. Survivors are her loving husband of 22 years, Stanley Holmes; her daughter, Crystal Parker Cochrane and husband, Robert Joe, of Cotton Plant; her sons, Bobby Shane Parker, of Cotton Plant, and Shawn Carol Parker and wife, Wendy; and stepchildren, Garrett and Rachel of Quitman; grandchildren, River Studer, of Cotton Plant, Nicholas Ray Parker and wife, Ashley, of Hunter, Blakely Sprouse, of Maumelle, and Adyson Walter, of Mabelvale; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashlyn, and Nicholas Jr. of Hunter; a brother, W.A. Davis III and wife, Denise, of Storey; a sister, Sharon Kay Andrews, of Alexander; and her nieces, nephews, stepchildren, & many dear friends.
Bobbey was a very private person and did not like being the center of attention, therefore, per her wishes, there will be no public viewing, following cremation by Dial and Dudley, and Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley assisting with a graveside ceremony at Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley to be held on October 10 at 3 p.m.
