Albert Funches February 25, 1952 – October 29, 2020

Albert Sherman Funches of Forrest City passed away at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy at the age of 68. Albert was born in Forrest City to James Tate and Lou Daisy Lay.

While growing up in Forrest City, he attended Beth Salem Baptist Church with his family. Albert attended the Forrest City Public School and was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. “Rock Solid” or “Redd”, as Albert was affectionately known, was a former employee of AirTherm Industries in Forrest City.

His parents; his brothers, Phornell Funches and Ellis Ray; and a sister, Mattie Lay, all preceded him in death. Survivors are three brothers, Ladell (Lena) Hull and James Smith, both of Forrest City, and Leon Funches, of Waynesville, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were November 12 at Beth Salem Baptist Church in Forrest City with Reverend Rayfield Walker officiating. Internment was at Casteel Cemetery by Branscumb Johnson & Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley.
